Helping Families Overcome Barriers to Self-Sufficiency
The Prevention, Retention and Contingency (PRC) Program helps employed low-income families overcome immediate barriers to achieving self-sufficiency. This Program helps families meet needs required to accept a job offer or retain a job as well as emergency needs that, if not resolved, could threaten the health, safety or well-being of 1 or more household members.

Examples of needs covered by PRC funds include:
Housing-related expenses
Transportation, such as car repairs
Work clothing or equipment

Services are available to:
Needy families with a minor child
Pregnant women
A non-custodial parent of a minor child, if the parent is cooperating with Child Support Enforcement
